Andreas gursky may day v 2006 i looked up more gursky images online, and in doing so came across this image of a tall building called “may day v.” the building is divided into neatly delineated units that can easily take on the appearance of cells. Seeing them from afar, the eye struggles to make out anything but a mass of chaos, but as moving closer, the large format prints makes it possible for a face, an item, a situation becomes apparent and suddenly steal all the. I love how his work is so very contradictory, how every thing seems so messy and yet is completely organized.
