In 1952, willem de kooning and his wife elaine had a private tour of the barnes foundation in merion and soutine’s paintings fascinated him. Conversations in paint will be on view at the musée de l’orangerie from september 15, 2021, through january 10, 2022. Close to fifty paintings were on offer.
