18 x 10 x 45 ft. It was created at kent state university in january 1970. Robert smithson, famous land artist behind the spiral jetty among other things, came to kent state university with the intent of creating another one of his flow pieces, where he would let a substance flow down a hill to create a naturally formed earthwork sculpture.

It is located southeast of the liquid crystal institute building on the kent state university main campus. He had originally wanted to do a ‘mud pour’ piece but it was too cold, so he worked hastily with students to develop an alternative work which addressed his interest in entropy and the accumulation of history. The work has since been demolished, and only concrete remains in the grass.

Partially buried woodshed, one of smithson's iconic works, was executed at kent state university in ohio in january 1970.
