Syd Mead Gouache. Over the course of the video, mead paints an illustration of a futuristic airship, starting with a base drawing and building up the image in gouache, shown in timelapse in the teaser below. The name derives from the italianguazzo, and is also referred to as opaque watercolor or bodycolor.
Most of the paintings are old pieces of his, so they were created traditionally using gouache paints. The art featured in this exhibition demonstrates his ability to take the concepts of today and translate them into believable and practical visions of the future. His work spans nearly six decades and has inspired fashion, transport, architecture and entertainment designers.
